Smoky Tentacles is an iconic venue, café and shisha bar, sought after by event organisers across the festival circuit for over eighteen years in the UK & Ireland. Known and loved by festival goers because of what it brings to every occasion. It has a strong customer loyalty and following, who know that the cafe is synonymous with great food, great vibes, great staff and a safe and friendly environment.

Over the last 18 years we have traded at all the major festivals from Boomtown to Bestival and have regular pitches year on year, including Glastonbury and have the name to get into as many more as you desire. There is massive potential for expansion and contained in the stock is enough equipment to run two events simultaneously.

The 'buy new' price of our customised truck, marquee, catering equipment and cafe setup would be in excess of £60,000 (see full inventory attached below.) Turnover and profit depends on how many events you wish to do. One event can turn over anything from around £15,000 to £40,000 depending on the length, size and nature of the event.

Reason for sale is that we're in the process of setting up a retreat centre in Spain (where we live out of season) and wish to commit our time and lives fully to this project after many years of fruitful and memorable times on the festival circuit. The cafe is priced to sell, so that we can move into the next phase of our lives in Spain!

To ensure the smooth transition of ownership and continuity I am offering personal support to bridge the takeover. This will be in the shape of assistance with bookings for 2024, staffing and introductions to all our suppliers. I am happy to assist with the full running and management of the first few events of 2024 in order to pass on the knowledge I have gained from 20 years in the industry.

Smoky Tentacles will ideally be sold as part of an events package which will also include sister (Moroccan marquee hire) company Fancy Tentacles Ltd (trading as The Fantastical Tent Co.) The businesses really go hand in hand. But we will also consider offers for Smoky Tentacles standing alone.

Fancy Tentacles (Trading as the Fantastical Tent Co.)
The Fantastical Tent Co likewise has an established name after trading as a Ltd Company for eight years. The marquees for hire are unique, handmade in Morocco and go hand in hand with the festival business - which effectively markets the marquees just by attending the festivals.

FT hires Moroccan marquees for weddings, private parties and events across the UK. FT is also a niche, top end supplier of Shisha Lounges. We have regular shisha lounge clients from Oxbridge universities for their Spring, Summer and Winter balls, along with regular corporate clients. All of which, along with bookings for 2024/25, will come with the business.

FT holds a lease, with extremely low rent on a huge unit in central Bristol (BS3) with good access to motorways. The unit has an office space, and amenities, plus shared loading bay with electric roller door. The unit currently pays for itself from the revenues attained by subletting small divisions of the space for artists, musicians and storage for small businesses. The unit also has the benefit of being exempt from business rates. The lease will come with the sale.

FT has historically been a sideline to the festival business and as hasn't yet been taken to it's full potential. Hires have largely fitted in and around festivals, but there is a massive scope and potential for expansion and to make a lot more income from this business.
